Along the Alphabet Path - O Week

Well we have finally started along our Alphabet Path again. I was a little preoccupied with getting all my Alphabet Plans finished as well as our Early Learning Plans for this year before we started full on. I found that trying to do a week full of activities while planning was as stressful as I remembered and so we took a little break to allow this to happen.
Now e have all this organised I am hoping we will be racing through the Alphabet path and the Phonics with great results for both girls especially.

So to start our O week we read from the alphabet books we usually use looking at the M page of each of these books:

Our saint this week from our Collection was St Odilia

We really only made one actual craft and that was a painted Octopus each made out of toilet roll holders

I had some very keen little painters for this activity and then just drew on the face and cut up the sides. Roll up each tentacle with a pencil and you have a cute little octopus

They really were quite quick and fun to make

O Shape cut out bread rings with fairy sprinkles on top

We actually had quite a few food related activities...of course this was most enjoyed by all and the older children as usual were not adverse to being involved in these activities.

These were the O shape foods we used to string necklaces and other edible string games.

We made some Owl sandwiches based off Jessica's ones but our bread was different and they don't look quite the same.

In fact they were still very popular and everyone wanted to make their own

Like I said even big girls couldn't resist the fun!

Moran was most diligent with her  threading

All in all it was quite a successful week and now we move on to..... P Week
