Our Dining Room Do Over

 

I hope that you are all having a great weekend so far.  I just have to tell you that I just got some great deals from my neighborhood garage sale  this week and I can’t wait to show you my stuff at my Twice Owned Tuesday Party.   Please join me because this week is going to be GREAT!!!

Today, I want to show you my NEW dining room!!!

I am excited because, for the seven years I have been married, I have never had a dining room or a dining  set.  When we first got married, we didn’t have a dining room and in this house, we turned our dining room into a living room.  And we turned our living room into a study. 

But when we got  a free dining room set from my Mother-in-Law, I could wait to re-arrange my house. 

I want to show you my NEW DINING ROOM.

     

I love having a table to decorate.  I showed you here that I got all these items on the table for for only $34.00 .

      

I added this planter that I got from a garage sale for only $3.

    

Here are my before and afters.

This is this room as a living room.

 

And here it is now.

I changed the vase for a candle holder that my MIL gave me and the picture that I got from a garage sale.

Before.  I don’t know how to get a good picture at this angle because of the windows.

After.  I would love to find a hutch to put in place of the mirror.  I will keep my eye open for one.

After.  I love it!!  I liked it before too but I love the change and a table to decorate.

Our Guest Room Re-Do

 

I have been busy organizing and having our garage sale  but I wanted to show you my first room “re-do”.  I think that it turned out great.

I showed you here how I decorated this room for only $99 but since I got new furniture and decor from my Mother-in-Law,  I changed up a few things.

First, I have to show you a  befores

The biggest thing that I changed is the bed frame and bedding.  (Both were from my Mother-in-Law for FREE)

I love the bedding!!

My favorite part is the PILLOWS!!!!

I feel like they make the room.

I also changed the night stands.

Black Bean and Corn Salad/Salsa

This week, I took the kids to my cousin’s house for a playdate.  When we kids were busy playing, we got to talking about one of our favorite topics……FOOD!

Then I copied down some of her recipes.

I already made this one and LOVED it!!!!

I wanted to share it with you incase anyone was looking for a great Mexican Salad or Salsa. 

This recipe is so fresh tasting and would be great for any summer party.

 

Black Bean & Corn Salad/Salsa

ingredients

1 can black beans (rinse and drain)

1 can corn (drained)

1 bunch cilantro

1 onion (finely chopped)

1 large tomato (diced)

2-3 T fresh or canned chilies

Dressing

1/2 c. extra virgin olive oil

2 T red wine vinegar

3 cloves garlic (minced)

1 small lime (2 T juice )

1/8 t honey

1 pinch cumin

1 pinch crushed red pepper

salt and pepper (to taste)

Just mix everything together in a bowl.

Enjoy as a side salad or with chips as a salsa!
