THE SECRET LIFE OF SEA BISCUITS

(Clypeaster rosaceus, by Ernst Haeckel, Kunstformen der Natur, 1904)

I spent the better part of an entire chapter of DEEP BLUE HOME describing the fascinatingly complex life history of jellyfish. Here's a lovely short film from the Brazil's Centro de Biologia Marinha, Universidade de Sao Paulo, telling a similar story for the Caribbean sea biscuit, Clypeaster rosaceus, a sand dollarlike echinoderm

The film circumvents language to deliver an elegant lesson on one of nature's most economic solutions to dispersing sessile organisms in the ocean.

How I Clean My Kitchen Sink

sink

I don't know about you, but I hate having a dirty sink!  I am not saying that mine doesn’t get gross because it does but I try to clean it about once a week.

Although I like a shinny sink, I do not like putting a lot of time into cleaning it!  That is way I love my Heavy Duty Scour Off.  It cleans my kitchen sink in only a couple of minutes even when I leave my cast iron pan in the sink and it leaves  rust rings.

Here is a before picture.

Here is my Scour Off.

All I do to clean my sink is….. put this paste on a sponge or wash cloth and rub down my sink.  Then I rinse it off.

That’s IT!!!!

So easy!!!!!

To give it that brand new look, I also wipe off the excess water with my microfiber cloth to dry the sink.

Cleaning my sink is one of my easiest kitchen chores and it makes a huge difference.  I always feel like my whole kitchen is clean when my sink is shinning, plus this stuff is totally safe, chemical free and smells great!

It also makes a great way to start my week.  Isn’t it funny that this kind of stuff helps me get through the week?  I can think better when the house is clean. lol!  I swear I am not OCD!  I just like a clean sink.  Don’t you?

I hope this is helpful to you!

An Easter Flower

Happy Easter

I found this flower laying around our house a while ago and I always wanted to make into a barrette for Grace.  I thought that it would look cute for Easter so Grace and I finally made it.

This is the flower and the barrette I used.

~♥ Happy April First ♥~

Good morning, blogging friends!  What a lovely spring morning it is here in Southwestern Pa.  I thought I'd show you a few things around my house.
I bought these flowers at Wal-mart yesterday.  The picture just doesn't do them justice.  I bought my container at TJ Maxx.  I also bought the lighted branches at a local country shop called Roadman's Country Living.
I also found these adorable carrots at Wal-mart.  I added them to my milk-glass flower pot filled with edible Easter grass.
Wouldn't these make great place cards?  They are filled with Jelly Beans...so cute!

Thanks for stopping by!  Tomorrow is my drawing for the Gooseberry Patch book.  If you haven't entered yet, you still have some time.  I will hold the drawing at 1:15 p.m. Eastern Time.
